From the international airport

  1. Take a taxi to the water taxi terminal. Buy a ticket at the airport taxi counter as you leave the arrivals hall. The fare is set at about $25, plus about $5 for each extra person, and the drive takes 20 to 45 minutes. San Pedro Belize Express also runs a shuttle for $25 for the first person and $10 for each extra person.
  2. Catch the boat. San Pedro Belize Express leaves from the Belize Marine Terminal at 111 North Front Street.
  3. Ride to Caye Caulker. About 45 minutes. The same boats go on to San Pedro.

Will you make the last boat?

The last boat leaves Belize City at 5:30 pm with San Pedro Belize Express. The taxi from the airport takes up to 45 minutes, so you need to be leaving the airport, through customs and with your bags, by about 4:30 pm. If your flight lands in the afternoon and that looks tight, the flight is the safer choice.

Flying to Caye Caulker

Tropic Air flies from the international airport to Caye Caulker. Its booking site showed round trips from $210 for late October 2026. Maya Island Air also lists Caye Caulker as a destination.

  • Both airlines check in at Terminal 1 of the international airport, so you don't leave the airport.
  • Tropic Air asks for at least 2 hours between your international arrival and its flight.
  • If your international flight is late, Tropic Air rebooks you on the next flight with open seats, which can be the next day.
  • Check in at least 30 minutes before a domestic flight.

When you get to Caye Caulker

San Pedro Belize Express has its Caye Caulker office on Avenida Hicaco, in front of the police station. The village is small, and most people walk or ride a bike. If you have bags or small kids, golf carts rent by the hour: compare them on our Caye Caulker golf cart rental page.

Going on to San Pedro

Boats leave Caye Caulker for San Pedro from 8:45 am to 6:15 pm. If you're flying into San Pedro instead, see Belize airport to San Pedro, and compare San Pedro golf cart rentals before you arrive.
